In this intimate experience, you’ll have the chance to explore the breathtaking Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We take our time — no rush, no pressure. Instead of a typical full-day tour, we follow the same iconic route in just half a day, savoring every moment. Along the way, we pass through the valley’s most memorable spots, stopping at viewpoints that take your breath away while enjoying the scenic drive through this world-famous landscape.
One of the highlights of the experience is a relaxing 1-hour boat cruise on the Douro River, where you can admire the terraced vineyards and rolling hills from a completely different perspective, drifting peacefully through the heart of the valley.
With the time we have, we’ll also visit a boutique winery nestled in the valley, where you’ll taste exceptional local wines and enjoy homemade bread, olives, and olive oil — each bite and sip a true reflection of the land itself.
It’s not just a tour; it’s an invitation to experience the Douro Valley as if it were your own personal secret.
The tour lasts approximately 7 hours, departing from Porto and returning at the end of the day.
Yes, children can join the tour; however, you must inform us in advance so we can provide a child seat. On this half-day tour, children are NOT entitled to a discount. Child seats are mandatory for children up to 6 years old, and booster seats are required for children between 6 and 12 years old. We can provide these upon prior request.
In case of allergies, you should always inform us either when booking the experience or at check-in.
The trip from Porto to the Douro Valley takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The return trip from the Douro to Porto takes approximately the same time.
Each winery serves different products, but in general, you will taste at least three different wines from the estate, along with other local and regional appetizers.
Yes, this experience is protected from the rain, and nothing changes if it’s raining.
The boat ride takes place on the Douro River, in the village of Pinhão. It lasts 1 hour and ends at the same location where it began.
If you wish to bring an animal, the situation must be handled carefully. You should contact us in advance to inform us, so we can evaluate whether it’s possible, due to potential allergies from other passengers in the van. We do NOT provide animal carriers. If we are not informed beforehand, the animal cannot join the tour.

03/12/2025Great half day tour. Winery we visited was amazing scenery and delicious wines - Pedro was an excellent winery host. Angelo was a incredible tour guide, very funny, knowledgeable and a great host for the day! Would recommend to anyone!

03/12/2025Wow - what a trip. André was a top top tour guide - we went to a lovely winery and got to sample some great wines and lovely local produce = yum. Lots of nice views and a couple of picture stops. The tavern we visited was also lush - super nice vino verde and local meats/cheeses. All in all = great vibes, great value for money and we were really well looked after. Perfect length. Recommend!!! Get involved!!

03/12/2025This tour was the highlight of our Porto trip. We went on a rainy day so we didn’t mind the car journey. Our tour guide was super fun and friendly. The small family vineyard we visited was beautiful and we loved the wines/port we tried. Our favourite part was the stop in Amarente at a local restaurant to try vinho verde and local meats and cheeses. They pack a lot into a half day tour and it was great value for money! If we had more time we would have done the full day, but this was a great option. Highly recommend!

03/12/2025What an amazing day, despite the rainy weather. João was amazing and was very knowledgeable about the region and the wines. The winery we visited was fascinating and we got to try some brilliant wines. We made another stop at a local tavern which was the highlight as enjoyed some green wine, meats, and cheese. It was not rushed at all, highly recommend this!

03/12/2025This tour is awesome. Jose was fantastic! The vineyard we went to was a lovely boutique small and intimate. Liz the vintner was very passionate and the afternoon was very informative in the making of Port. The little extras provided were unexpected and delicious. Jose was funny and informative. Such a great afternoon and a highlight of our visit to Porto

03/12/2025We absolutely loved our experience! We traveled with a 9 month old baby and Angelo was so great in accommodating us. He was patient, knowledgeable, funny, and very engaging. We left our small group as friends with the rest of the group. Maria (another guide) was also fantastic. We highly recommend this tour!!

03/12/2025Lovely experience and the winery they brought us to felt so authentic. We also got sooooo much tapas with our tasting which made the experience even cooler. Our guide was also super outgoing and fun to be around. Overall, highly recommended
