Experience Description:
We’ll begin with a scenic drive looping around the valley, taking in some of the most breathtaking viewpoints along the N323 road.
Our hike starts in the charming village of Vale de Mendiz, located in the heart of the Douro Valley. From there, we’ll hike approximately 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) through vineyards and historic villages.
At midday, we’ll take a well-deserved break for a picnic (not included—please bring your own food and drinks) and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
We'll end our hike in the picturesque village of Pinhão—a true fairy-tale setting. There, you'll have time to explore, relax with a drink, and take in the incredible views.
We expect to return to Porto around 5:00 PM.
If you are used to hiking, you will probably find this walk moderate and enjoyable.
⚠️ If you are not used to walking, are elderly, sedentary, or have heart, respiratory, or mobility issues, this hike will likely be very difficult and exhausting.

Being a local he has a wealth of knowledge about the Douro & Porto. We highly recommend this tour to anyway wanting to experience nature at its best.

01/11/2023A very nice experience hiking about 9km. A day that starts with mist, but quickly lets us discover magnificent landscapes! The guide explains several things to us about the journey and answers our questions! I recommend it if you want to be active and end your day by visiting a vineyard accompanied by a generous meal! Don't worry if you don't drink alcohol, because you have the right to want to visit a vineyard too and it's worth it!

01/03/2024Seeing the Douro valley was great and we were so happy to have the option of a hiking tour instead of a wine tour. The minibus was comfortable and the drive wasn't too long - lots of interesting scenery along the way. The hike was just the right amount of time and we were happy to have time to explore Pinhao at the end. Our host was more of a tour leader / driver / navigator, not so much about sharing history. I have already recommended this tour to others, as I think it's a good way to see the Douro Valley without renting a car.

01/12/2024Amazing hike through vineyards of the Duoro Valley. If you’re not into wine tasting and like the outdoors this tour is for you. Our guide, Rui, was very friendly and answered all our questions. We lucked out on the great weather. We also took the boat ride on the river for a different view of the vineyards and wineries. Overall a wonderful tour and would highly recommend.

01/11/2024Andre gave thoughtful and kind explanations. I had visited the Douro Valley last year on another winery tour, but this time, trekking through the valley instead of just wine tasting made me fall in love with it even more. It really feels like a trip to Porto isn’t complete without the Douro Valley. Thanks to Andre, it became an unforgettable day. I even want to go back again around the first week of August, just before the grape harvest. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy walking more than wine tasting and to anyone who wants to fully soak in the beauty of nature!

01/03/2024Great view hiking from top of the vineyards down to Douro river. Picnic was great. More than enough food. Those with knee issue may want to bring walking sticks. Skip river cruise during peak season as it was way too crowded

01/03/2024Vineyards everywhere, absolutely beautiful. Walking through them you experience them from close up. Excellent combination with wine tasting. And where else would a guide lead this tour with one guest only? Adriano, you're the best, thanks a millions. Go join him!
